I finished my third response for workshop. I have one more to go. Am I convinced they are any good? No, no, I am not.

I am halfway through my third response, and I also printed all my materials for my residency classes because I need to read on paper damnit not a screen.

Just wrote my first response to the first workshop piece that I read for my residency next week I survived.

I finished my assignment at like 5:30 pm after helping the kid get everything they needed done.

My teen's school assignment got in the way of my school assignment today. Being a mom and a student is going well on day two 🙃

Only three more to go for the full workshop, but my brain stopped working. I gotta get back in practice.

Just wrote my first response to the first workshop piece that I read for my residency next week I survived.

Me: School is gonna kick my ass, bro. My teen: Same, bro. (The teen is taking two summer classes, P.E. and driver's ed.)

Nothing happening over here but staving off a panic attack about grad school. I just...

Me: I'm anxious AF. Also me: I'll get some coffee because that'll help. 🙃

16 days until I start my MFA, no, I'm not worried about it, why do you ask? 🙃

Does anyone else get the sort of tired where their brain cannot handle fiction? Anyways I’m reading Bruce Lincoln’s Secrets, Lies, & Consequences and 2 chapters in I think it is a must-read and not just for religious studies scholars but also for people broadly interested in anti fascism.

My therapist reminded me today that part of my problem is trauma that I've been carrying around from the first time I went to graduate school. She's not wrong.

I start grad school again in a few weeks, so it is no surprise that my anxiety is pretty high about this. I am somehow convinced I am already failing at grad school before I started. I just...

Let me be clear: the admin sent an email to the DU community last night that essentially invited a mob to harass & assault the encampment students. It was either willful incompetence or malignancy. Either way, we were shown that our administration has no will or ability to keep our campus safe.

Historic night at DU. A community came together to defend our students against an admin that was tone deaf and a drunk mob of counter protesters that tried repeatedly to instigate violence. There were no cops and no campus safety. Just faculty and staff in neon yellow vests protecting students.
