One of the most consistent rules in politics right now is Young Turks alumni basically speed running a fascism transition.
Ken Klippenstein is streaming with George Galloway. The Young Turks are hosting RFK Jr. One ex bernie spokesperson is streaming with candace owens and another is defending Nick Fuentes. Brianna Wu is hanging with lauren southern. Maybe now is the time to re-evaluate how the left chooses celebrities.

It’s one of my iron laws: don’t trust national campaign comms people any farther than you can throw them. The job attracts the most baroque egos, and being “fans” of comms people is disastrous.
I love Bernie, but both of his campaigns were master classes in how NOT to select a national campaign staff. Even accounting for the dreadfully shallow pool of progressives for the time. Also, I tell friends this: don't trust Campaign Comms people. Just. Don't. It attracts baroque weirdos, always.

Good rule, but what's notable is how many of these people have never been associated with a campaign, but we're elevated based on their posting skills. One of the big issues is that a shit ton of online leftists basically can't read when someone is a true believer vs. fame shopping.

Beautifully put. There are a lot of great comms folks out there in more permanent shops— union comms, some NGOs, PR folks, and even state parties— but modern campaigns are made for fame seekers who can get in early during a low-vet period with a candidate’s tired and hurried staff.
