If I had a nickel for every time Bendis wrote a poorly plotted event that negatively impacted a famous female Avenger's public perception and gave sexist CHUDs plenty of ammunition for years to come, I'd have two nickels... Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

Wait, why’d Vision die?

If you mean why Wanda had him killed? No one knows. It makes no sense.

this entire storyline in a nutshell.

Why does that particular series have really bad anniversary issues...? 200, 500... What the hell?!

Oh boy, this storyline. When I was a kid the Avengers were my favorite super hero team, and when I was a teen Bendis was my favorite writer. And this storyline was the biggest punch in the gut, I'm pretty sure this was the first time I ever read a storyline and thought "This is insulting."

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

One of the things that makes this storyline so frustrating is that Bendis used a similar concept in his Powers book, with a hero so powerful they become detached from reality and end up causing widespread devastation. He tried to do a similar thing here but fumbled it so badly by comparison.

You have to wonder if she's been Barrymore'd by this point...

god writers are STILL trying to dig wanda out of the hole that "Disassembled" put her in, it's genuinely sad.

It was so crappy, I dropped most Marvel titles for a couple of years. Maybe not the most mature reaction, but it felt like such a slap in the face.

I don't know why Bendis was given like half of Marvel's titles to write for so long.

I really needed a bit of this on a lazy day today. And yes, I’m VERY MUCH looking forward to Event Comics Month 5!
