There’s a late 13th century letter if I recall correctly, from a dad to his son, in which the dad says: no, I won’t send you more money, I hear all you do is sit around and play your guitar. Go to class!

A scholar in my field found out the positioning of a cathedral choir thanks to a memo found in church records admonishing the choir singers for throwing chicken bones at each other.

Reading now! There are two pieces I want to write. One on the need for blue states to form a new model in their public universities, but that their STEM STEM STEM hullabaloo isn't going to cut it. The other on how STEM now casts S and M as just service to T and E.
