There were so many jazz magazines in the 1920s & 1930s & beyond. Hot Jazz was published Paris with articles in both French and English. #jazzhistory #research #jazzsky

Every picture of JD Vance looks like Coach from Letterkenny
Every picture of JD Vance looks like he’s the bellicose owner of a Tae Kwon Do school in a southern strip mall in 1980 who hasn't broken a real sweat since he got his black belt and inflates his ego by bullying the green belts

For me the strength/limitation of Oasis is that NG plays guitar like a busker: simple chords, steadily strummed. It makes songs easy to sing along to but they end up sounding v similar - esp. when he uses the same FX pedals. I’m not aware of him showing the curiosity of Johnny Marr for example

In the streaming era it feels like the familiar ’album’ format has dissolved. You can reassemble them in a different order; create your own edit.

Little personal news: I've been promoted! I'm now Polygon's Entertainment Editor, overseeing the film/TV/books/etc. vertical. As always, I'm looking to work with more freelancers and get more voices on the site. If you specialize in current SF/F media, this is a great time to hit me up:
How to pitch stories to Polygonwww.polygon.com Are you a freelancer with a great idea? We’d love to hear it
