Even beyond the context of the allegations, this whole thread is correct. The recent trend of stories about The Power of Storytelling is a massive con. It's a questionable claim at best, plus it's usually deployed to cover up some weak writing.

I've believed for a while that writers who go on about the power of stories are telling a self-serving lie. Just how self-serving can be seen in how the chap who told us fiction teaches us empathy can't understand consent, power dynamics, basic human decency. Literature is an amazing product of

Frank Tuttle is such an underrated director. He wasn't going to win Oscars but there were few filmmakers who could bring as much fun per minute of movie. THE LUCKY DEVIL is about a male model who stumbles into entering a race in a cursed car. It's just as entertaining as it sounds.

I think the problem with “the narrative” is that Biden is framed as the protagonist and Trump is the antagonist. The media want to explore the drama of Frodo trying to take the ring to Mordor, rather just listing Sauron’s latest atrocities. This is, needless to say, extremely stupid.

Say what you will about the various Democratic party actors in the fight over whether Biden stays on the ticket, but I can understand all of their behavior much better than I can the journalists who are trying to write their way into the camps
