Yeah... There's no push to make systems more efficient or able to run with less resources. Even a simple website will be hooked to a kubernetes cluster. I think part of it is just that Cloud made servers cheaper, but a lot of it is just... capitalism! ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Today's diversion: trying to figure out if the land we live on was part of Roger Williams original agreement with the Narragansett or if it was added in a later purchase.

In line for The Pretenders (sold out) and we're hearing the beginning of the Noah Kahan show at Fenway (also sold out). I guess there's nothing happening at House of Blues tonight so we're not at maximum capacity for shit happening around Fenway tonight.

man I used to not block at all. going wisdom was it just sends the message that you're paying attention, food for the troll, etc. very glad to have grown out of that, now I block people for saying they've never been to a powerviolence gig, for saying they haven't tried stir-fried lettuce, anything

I didn't see @scalzi.com cross-post this here, but thought I throw the screencap up on here, with the added kicker that, if there's any collective lesson we learned in our experience in The Bad Place, is that you just need to unapologetically block, block, block anyone that you don't vibe with.

Time to go interact with gamers instead of circling imaginary wagons using screenshots of the site that we are all currently on (without any alt text, natch) because it's somehow less toxic, go figure.
