There is something to be said to be on this app, surrounded by people lamenting the fall of the Republic, as opposed to cheering it on.

I live in NorCal pay close attention to fires. The only reason I go over there is fire twitter. I wish I didn't have to because even fire twitter has trolls (just saw one using the term "commifornia" and jfc.)

I live here too, and tbh I'm not even missing the fire coverage. maybe that will change if (God forbid 🙏) we get another Rim Fire. But Watch Duty gives me the basic info I need for local dangers. I didn't realize how watching the whole West burn stressed me out every fire season :(

Watch Duty has been and Wildfire Aware have been two apps that have kept me up to date FAR faster than awaiting anything official here in So Oregon and all our fires

It seems that the algorithms over there are set to keep a very high level of anxiety, doubt and antagonism going. I finally removed it from my devices when I became positively convinced that the other side of the algorithm was to dampen reason and positivity.
