I'm at that awkward point in crocheting a shirt where I know it is too big and also it is nearly finished.
So I'm just going to stare sadly at it for days or months before I finally decide to frog the whole thing and start again.
I used to be the “expert” at our knitting group and ripping out almost finished garments was a specialty. You need a friend, who’s skilled with handling fiber to do it for you. It’s way less painful when it’s reduced to balls of yarn and then reskeined.
Or, save it, because one day you might meet a giant who needs a sweater, and you will have one, and it will be just like the Princess Bride and you will be so happy!
I feel your pain. I’m knitting a tank top bottom-up and it FEELS too large, but I laid a shirt that is fitting me perfectly over it and the shirt was the same or slightly larger, so I think I’m good? Slightly too early to try it on, I think
