I'm really really REALLY hoping that somehow Sen. Whitehouse (one of my favorite legislators, tbh) can take control of the committee next time it comes time to divvy up the chairs among future Dems because Durbin has been unbelievably awful.

Hell, literally any other Dem currently on the committee would do better than Durbin. They're all obviously much more capable of doing what needs to be done. Klobuchar, Coons, Blumenthal, Hirono, all of them would be preferable to Durbin!
