I wish this headline weren’t so evergreen TL;DR: our city’s Cop in Chief is preventing City Council oversight by vetting all ballot initiatives before they reach voters, and yet the NYT’s framing depicts the Speaker of the Council as the one making a “power play”

😻🥹 I’m so proud (She’s doing great! It was a lot less serious than expected and the vet even gave us a goodie bag with a kitty toothbrush and a dime bag of catnip. When we got home she was wobbly but purring incredibly loudly. Turns out she’s a happy drunk!)
