Also, trying and failing would still be bad and hurt a lot of people.

Or even "How close can they get to that?" The answer is probably "Close enough to kill a lot of people."

And “even if it’s illegal to do that, if trump orders people to do it is anyone going to stop him” (because the answer is probably not)

And “is it consistent with other evidence about what they mean to do” (in general, yes)

Especially when we have SCOTUS who does whatever it wants and is like "So? What are you gonna do about it?" and then we have a Congress who cowers and refuses to do anything at all. What's legal is totally irrelevant to these people

also it's good to remember that they made him basically immune to crime, if they can't technically "do that" now they sure as hell will be able to if they get power

Can they? is mostly a question of logistics, not legality. And whether or not they CAN, the mere attempt would in most cases do immense harm. And they sure as hell will try if we give them the chance. Don't. Vote the bastards out.
