Johnny McEntee, one of Trump's most loyal deputies who is in regular contact with him, is literally one of the people collecting resumes for staffers who would implement Project 2025. Shame on any journalistic outfit who takes this "truth" at face value.
Today in "Trump didn't write this, someone on his campaign staff did." I don't know if Kellyanne Conway is working for Trump these days but this feels more like her style, voice, and syntax than Trump or those posting on his behalf recently.

No coincidence that Robinson is using the same "you made us do it" rhetoric as Kevin Roberts--it's a textbook strategy for persuading people to get over their moral scruples and just do it.

The ramped-up hits on Project 2025 must be landing — Trump just shoved it right in front of the bus

Waving away dangerously autocratic & illiberal stuff like the Reawaken America tour as just "church stuff" is how fascism comes to America with the passive assent of millions of apolitical white people who have no deep desire to be "the baddies" of American democracy. www.npr.org/2022/11/02/1...
The ReAwaken America Tour unites conservative Christians and conspiracy theoristswww.npr.org Some of the biggest proponents of conspiracy theories about vaccines and elections regularly tour the country together. Many of the speakers are closely tied to former President Donald Trump.

Great thread breaking down what this fight about abortion & the platform might really accomplish—and who pushing this fight might really benefit
Washington Post has more on the story first in Politico the other day about the clashes between the Christian right and the Trump campaign/RNC on platform drafting. It's getting heated, but what will it amount to? 🧵1/x www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Tempers flare as Trump team revises abortion plank for Republican platformwww.washingtonpost.com The former president wants the platform to endorse leaving the issue to the states rather than a federal ban in the wake of Roe v. Wade’s demise.

Anyway journalism is supposed to be the fourth pillar of US democracy. And theres evidence that where theres good journalism there's less governmental corruption. Kind of interesting that NYT has openly positioned itself as anti- democracy imho.

If you hear next week that the RNC has "moderated" on abortion by dropping a 20-week-ban from the platform or somesuch, here's me telling you now that it doesn't mean anything close to "moderation" when it's these guys running the show.

If people don't understand how crucial local abortion funds are to folks actually getting their procedures or pills, here's the latest example: National Abortion Federation and Planned Parenthood are slashing patient grants from 50% to 30% of what callers need. Thirty percent.
More info from my local, the DC Abortion Fund, about why they're cutting back their hours and service area

every time I write about some guy on the right I should look up, in addition to a) does he have a tag on Right Wing Watch and b) or appear in a search of Media Matters, but also c) did he back a "stop the steal" lawsuit or other effort, d) where was he on Jan 6, e) was he later subpoenaed for either

correct and: part of the reason we're in the situation we're in, and why it's taking some people by surprise, is it's not sunk in for many that no matter what happens in the white house, these guys will retain a base of power. they are operating under an apocalyptic paradigm that justifies anything
IDK kind of feels like we should be paying more attention to a prominent conservative think tank saying we're in the midst of a second american revolution that will remain bloodless as long as long as the left lets it be, then whether or not Biden should step down.

I remember where I was in May 2021 when the first legal challenge to the first ban (AR, still in court) dropped: at the TX state lege while folks were trying to stop their ban (it passed in 2023, was upheld last week). Hat's off to the New York Times, among others, truly. www.npr.org/sections/sho...
In just a few years, half of all states passed bans on trans health care for kidswww.npr.org The Supreme Court will hear a case on gender-affirming care in the next term after a flurry of legislation. Lower courts have come to conflicting conclusions when these bans were challenged.

I went looking for the whole War Room episode this Kevin Roberts/"bloodless" second American Revolution clip was in, and you know for all his "we are winning" pablum, the reason he is thanking a guest host at the top is because War Room's regular host is in jail www.mediamatters.org/project-2025...

using the power of the presidency and agencies to impose a Christian-nationalist worldview on the country without having to pass any new laws or go through any publicly accountable process, and undoing abortion rights, environmental protection, labor rights, and financial safeguards in the process
Not trying to be antagonistic - it's still early in the AM - but I wonder how many of the people on socials 'talking' about Project 2025 have read through the full document. It's very very long. What is Project 2025 actually shorthand for at this moment?
