How can he be this stupid. I know fuck all about the internal workings of Wikipedia but anyone who's been on the internet should understand the concept of "bandwidth"
I'll just state that Wikimedia is more than just English Wikipedia, there are many Wikipedias in different languages, Wikidata, and of course, Wikipedia Commons, which is a media repository. But yeah, Elno is being dumb again.
Most likely that he’s trying to get his base mad about the Wikimedia Foundation to direct attention away from the latest thing he’s intentionally fucking up.
Or just generally get it under attack and make it harder for them for being *generally* unbiased and apolitical. He deals in disinformation and conspiracy.
He’s steering his ass-licking cult army to attack his enemies. It’s not stupid of him if he gets what he wants from his flock. Exact same scenario with Trump’s mindless tweets that got his targets threatened.
My guess is that it's not that deep, and he's just trying to cast doubts at Wikimedia so fewer people will donate to them and more will purchase xitter premium
I think he has a problem understanding other people (and their wishes) are real and not like his wishes, see how he is changing twitter to suit his personal prefs (and all his companies basically being toys). In a different universe he is a bad gamedev arguing with gamers who dont get his games.
It's worse, he doesn't understand how to Google something.
The smartest big boy in the world thinks research is when a conspiracy theorist tells him the scoops about how the world "really works".
Ever since I heard him talk about redoing Twitter's "entire stack," I saw someone who was faking his way through software.
This quote confirms he knows nothing about software or software operations.
Money is a failed metaphor for intelligence once again.
I mean the extent of my tech expertise is running a B-tier webcomic and even I've had to deal with the fact that traffic costs money.
I'm sure Musk knows that much, barely; he just thinks other people are even stupider than he is and he can fool us.
I've reached a point where I've stopped giving people who say stupid things some benefit of the doubt.
For a long time, I was certain Ted Cruz wasn't as stupid as the things he said . . . just because he went to Princeton & Harvard.
Then I realized, no, he is that stupid.
My partner and I always argue about this. She thinks people are malicious but can't possibly be this stupid. I insist that they may also be malicious, but they certainly are also just that stupid.
I've worked with some very smart people. Most are pretty good folks.
But I've seen up close that being smart at one thing doesn't transfer to other things necessarily. Look at James Watson and William Shockley. I've seen that sort of person more than once.
I think the Trump era has taught us that stupidity and malice are entirely capable of existing simultaneously, and generally do among white supremacists.
My take exactly. “He was a great debater!” — “he’s a cynical dipshit who says blazingly stupid things for clout”. What is the difference in any possible way? I don’t care what he truly believes. He is a fucking idiot.
In many cases, it's not stupid in terms of their ability to analyse their knowledge, it's stupid because they refuse to take on new knowledge from outside their ideological bubble.
"This challenges my beliefs, therefore it must be incorrect and I can ignore it".
And every day it thinks of us, far away on the very large and very fun alien spaceship that stole the library from our planet and then gifted it sentience.
