I don’t know. Sports betting has been legal and widespread in other countries for decades. Has it nuked any foreign leagues?

No it hasn’t. This is the weird Pollyanna/Quaker pearl clutching leftovers in this country. We myopically think we are the first ppl to do a thing & if it’s not what we know, it scares ppl. EPL, LaLiga, ect have had it for decades. The oversight/legalization actually helps keep the sport clean.

I think there’s an honest discussion to be had in terms of not marketing it so aggressively (especially to kids) or not have it dominate in game content. However, that’s different than this thing scares me because I don’t understand it, make it go away.

This whole thing was so predictable and it’s going to be an issue in every professional sport.
