I was SO TICKLED when I stumbled into this exhibit in Lisbon and discovered that there was a pre-internet-meme Goose Game!
There are/ were several other examples of the game in the book/ exhibit, including a chess combo from 19th c China.
They're bonkers! They go from that deep fuchsia to the palest translucent pink-y ecru, and some of them unfurl to just gargantuan dimensions. This is one bundle I bought at Trader Joe's a few years ago, day of purchase to a week later.
So apparently if it weren't Marine Layer Season in L.A., we WOULD have a good chance at seeing the aurora in the Basin! This is a shot from the Mount Wilson Obvservatory cam!
He's quite a bit taller than (putatively 6'1) Cavill, though? I only threw Affleck in there because he seems much LESS taller-than-Cavill and I actually have a bead on how tall Affleck is IRL. Oddly, men who work as models/actors also usually lie *downward* about their height when they're over 6'3.
2020 was the first year my cat experienced presents and a stocking bc she's usually in L.A. with a sitter when I'm home for the holidays, and she had always been Very Excited about ornaments/ the tree, but all those boxes and tissue practically had her singing A Whole New World.
I, for one, am really enjoying Matt Bomer's choice this awards season to pivot from impeccable tuxes to this slightly louche open neck and Studio 54 necklaces situation.
The Criterion Channel isn't really up over here, but this is an absolute banger collection of movies coming in Feb, including one of my newer all-time favorites, A Matter of Life and Death:
LOL, I never have these on hand, but I happen to have been telling a friend last night how ABSURDLY hot Lawrence Olivier was when young, in Technicolor, and flailing/charming his way through a screwball comedy instead of brooding.
DC had some REALLY great leaving-the-Bechdel-test-in-the-dust full issue comic books this week (Birds of Prey! Poison Ivy!), but my brain snagged on this moment in Fire and Ice #1. Is this an already established bit of back story? Bc it's perfect, and I would read that romance.
