This. I mean. I don’t collapse after a shower but I do get a migraine and chronic pain flares, and need 1-3 recovery days. Every situation is different but fatigue is *not* just getting extra tired.

Also: it's not your fault if you rest and still get long covid. It's not your fault if you don't rest and get it. It's the goddamn virus's fault, and the fault of the people in power who failed us. (Yeah, us. I've had long covid for four years now, about as long as anyone has.)

So many folks are sick again so I share this with love: you must rest. Rest won’t guarantee you don’t get long covid but it’s a huge mitigator. Even if you have an accute mild case. Even if you don’t feel it at all. Send this to your boss. Make your partner clean or use disposable dishes etc.

And why it’s criminal of our govts to take away wastewater analysis to monitor Covid and other viruses of concern like H5N1. Taking away the tools to live safer with Covid doesn’t make Covid disappear. You’re all going to be really mad in a decade when you’re disabled by Covid.

The article mentions inflammation as a possible actor at play here. Chronic inflammation is thought to be what makes people with HIV even on successful treatment more susceptible to developing certain cancers earlier in life (along with heart disease, diabetes, etc.)
