Pearce is one of my favorite stories from his era, an-oft-injured AAAA-type who bounced up and down before an out-of-nowhere breakout at age 31 that took him from on-his-way-out to set for life financially, followed by an improbable, late career World Series MVP award at age 35.
I was in the stands with my dad for game 5 and watched him hit two home runs to win the World Series for my beloved Red Sox
I fucking love Steve Pearce
Steven Pearce and Chris Sale both played at my high school and Pearce is hands down the one we’re most proud of. Just an all around nice dude and the best fielder most of us have ever seen.
I love Steve Pearce. The Orioles acquired him three times in 2012. He was a certified grade A stud in 2015. I used to love just seeing him pop up on random AL East teams.
I went with Brian Daubach. Red Sox first baseman for a few years of my childhood. Gave me my first autograph/player interaction. Gates just opened and he was doing an interview in my section and afterwards he sat and answered some questions, took a picture with me, and signed my hat and ball.
