If anyone is looking for fancy tickets to Kylie at Hyde Park tomorrow, we have two we can’t use anymore due to a busted ankle! Diamond vip view, face value, don’t want to waste them or lose the money.

Starting on the final stretch of work on my new book on #hayaomiyazaki - and I still knock off work every evening at seven to make dinner with OH, and take a full day off every week. Because nothing says balance matters like writing about someone who has avoided it all his working life.

I’m approaching Windows 11 with the same trepidation I did Windows 95: how much do I have to kill or preferably never have installed to make the OS work for me. Back then it was getting rid of the Live Desktop and having to have Internet Explorer, now it’s hunting down CoPilot.
I'm with you 💯on the need to stay up-to-date; the problem in this instance is that Windows 11 is a downgrade in all the ways that a user will be aware of. (Security upgrades are generally invisible.) I'm at a loss to think of a single UX change from 10 to 11 that made things _better_.

I would have thought the federal government’s right to regulate distilling was settled when President George Washington LED A FREAKING ARMY WHILE IN OFFICE to enforce such measures when the country was <5 years old.

Judging by the screams from up and down Broad Street, either Mafeking has been relieved or England are through to the European Cup finals. Jolly good show either way.

I appreciate HAHA RACHEL REEVES SAY NO is the hard left's favourite meme right now. But a HUGE problem for transport outside of London was the last government's addiction to spending announcements, rather than having sane ministers who were across their briefs.

No change at #BBC #Radio4 #Today… pundits waffling that Biden must step aside because the election results in France and the UK show a youthful hard strategy is needed to win and no it’s getting the vote out to make sure the fascists don’t take control. No pasaran, melonfarmers!

So my theory as to why Sir Kier Starmer went to the Admiralty Building first before going to No. 10 was to add his name to the treaty with the Deep Old Ones.
Avatar
The @weregopher.bsky.social and I said in chorus at the end of Starmer’s speech “He talks purty”.

Welp. Good feeling reduced. Off to have a back tooth pulled.

WIth fifteen seats to declare, con now confirm that the Tories have managed to NARROWLY avoid a LMAO and cling on for a LOL.

What we would have been doing in my childhood which I really urgently need someone to do now is to go through the Reform vote and correlate it with every single possible metric to explain to us what the demographics are that drive a constituency toward Reform.
Through my childhood, on election nights, my dad was the man under Peter Snow’s desk putting interesting facts on notecards into his socks. That’s how it was done before Google, kids. You got a very clever ASD man with some Oxford degrees to just remember interesting constituency histories.

IMO this is a straight-up ageist and ableist image, no?

Today is hopefully the day when things in the UK will start getting worse at a slower rate.

Good. That’s saved me some cut and paste work on the computer today. Just hit Print.
How many will you get?

Night all. If you’re entitled to vote in the UK elections tomorrow please do.

When w3w started up, they offered custom “one words” which you could change the location of as you saw fit. I paid for a 10 year licence for one which I used for three years. Then w3w cancelled the service. No explanation, no refunds. Sods.
There is no limit to the schadenfreude I will feel when what3words goes under – the UK’s worst example of PR-driven "tech" archive.ph/mcDVe
