I get frustrated with the idea that creative pursuits like writing and art are generally considered “passions” and not “jobs”, cuz that’s how the world sets them up to be underfunded & underappreciated, and still act like they’re doing creators a favor by paying for it. We are tradespeople. Period.

This feels like a checklist to me, like some mental quartermaster is tersely demanding that I tick all the boxes before I step out my door and go out into the world.

I would like to think that the blotchy texture we get from 3D Printing now is going to be looked upon in the future like some charming deliberate aesthetic choice, like 8-bit graphics from the 80s or woodgrain in the 70s, fueled A Look, and is going to be Revived as a style forty years from now.

Damn. Mojo's part of my core memories. My first CD that I ever bought was the Mojo Nixon/Jello Biafra single "Will the Fetus Be Aborted?" when I was in college. I am signal boosting this, as Stephen was decent enough to give me some decent advice last year regarding pathways to getting a manuscript published. I am not liking how this is the SECOND major "name" author I've read about on here who needs financial assistance, in as many months.
