Judging folks for not knowing the thing "everyone knew" in your whisper network is a great way to tell the people whose safety you don't care about that you also feel morally superior to them.
I'm tired of seeing people complain about fireworks. Fireworks are great except for the fire risks that they have. And how they negatively impact the environment. And how they scare my pets. And how they can trigger a variety of mental health issues. And how they- (1/98)
R/relationships: I (ageless, genderless) have fallen in love with a bald starship captain (49m). We love each other, but it seems like all we do lately is argue.
I admit, I have made mistakes, and try to make up by bringing him to exotic places, but I feel he is unnecessarily
All forms of oppression intersect.
Mask bans suppress protest, sicken and disable communities, and will most harm vulnerable groups: Black, trans, etc. Chevron ruling means more expensive healthcare. Bills and disability can unhouse you, which means jail to do slave labor.
Resist. Do it in an n95.
"Girl Dinner" was just explained to me and that's how I learned I've been eating girl dinner all along. A sleeve of crackers, chunk of cheese & a pile of grapes? That's me, girl dinner. Three pizza rolls, two chicken nuggets, and a Taco Bell hot sauce? That's me, girl dinner.
Also, all abled people need to pick disabled people to support through mutual aid right now. Adopt one. They're everywhere here. Disabled people are commonly the people pushed into the most desperate situations in our society. All around you, disabled people in poverty are crowdfunding to survive.
when I was a child, I thought smart people were in charge. when I got older, I realized you didn't have to be smart to be in charge. but the piece that was hardest to learn is that no one is really in charge at all. no one's going to fix it beyond us.
The thing is, the disabled are a population of enraged people. The disabled are carrying a deep rage because not only is ableism embedded in nearly everything in our world, but people without our vulnerabilities are hostile to making anything better for us. Also society does not accept our rage.
Also posting actually can be praxis. Many disabled folks are posting because they canโt get out in the world, because itโs not safe or accessible for them.
So much of my politics and my understanding of the world that I have brought into my real life work has been shaped by what Iโve learned online
I don't disagree that posting-as-praxis is an issue, but I will say that it's frustrating that it's consistently assumed here that all leftists are doing nothing but, especially given other action being purposefully not discussed for legal reasons. I can say many I know are very active offline.
โI voted blue but things still suckโ is a reason to do more than just vote, not a reason to vote for something demonstrably worse (or sit out the chance to keep Demonstrably Worse out of office)
I want them to weep when they lose. I want them to sit there, crying into their celebratory wines, knowing that they will never have power and that they will be a footnote in history. I want them laid low, to suffer the pains of knowing that they have lost, forever.

i don't want to alienate anyone with i told you so shit but like if you are just joining us with "things in america look very bad" you might consider listening to people who have been saying that who you have been pointedly ignoring
Keeping Trump out of the White House isnโt the only thing that needs doing and it isnโt enough to solve all problems facing the country & world but if it isnโt done then all those problems get exponentially worse in ways I donโt even know how to express and it scares me when people pretend otherwise
Heritage Foundation president celebrates Supreme Court presidential immunity ruling: "We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be" www.mediamatters.org/project-2025...
whenever my cats see me enjoying canned beans, they begin to wail for a portion all their own, and when this happens i say "no" in an australian accent, something i can manage only by imagining nicole kidman in my place, eating those beans
Someone somewhere nearby has started letting off fireworks for my birthday. Thereโs literally no other reason why they would be doing that today. Itโs so thoughtful.
the supreme court sure does suck now huh! makes u wish that anybody other than donald trump won in 2016 doesnโt it. look, i donโt like that we have to vote based on the lifespans of supreme court justices, but, they live a really long time (unfortunately)
