Blood Waters of Dr. Z is *such* a fun kick-back-and-relax episode, even though it's an episode where only terrible horrible no-good very-bad things happen in the movie.
Gotta love the dune buggy-looking thing they apparently swiped from Camp Snoopy!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS :D
Love love love that episode as a Christmas tradition!
Also, they had such a great callback to that in a host segment for Space Travelers:
Joel: "Who gets to decide who lives and who dies?"
Crow: "I do, remember? I called dibs!"
Also, hello there!
So much, aye. Has been ever since seeing (and recording) the MST Hour treatment in junior high.
And then the Mexican Santa Claus movie got worked into the mix. After that, it was fun to work The Christmas That Almost Wasn't into the holiday rotation as well! And now, The Christmas Dragon! Love it!
Oh, indeed... love to work in all four Christmas episodes - Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Santa Claus, The Christmas That Always Wasn't, and The Christmas Dragon - if that's at all possible.
Any one of those episodes makes for special jazz. All four? Something exceptional.
I came here specifically for DINNER.
Heh, love that one! Second-fave episode behind Jack Frost.
Also also, hi there, and glad to have you taking part in all of this, then!
It's even better in the theatrical version of the movie, where she writes "BASTARD!" on his windshield.
Also, Mitchell & the kid yell "PISS OFF" at each other instead of "BUZZ OFF," and Mitchell crushes John Saxon's head w/ a rock after Saxon tries to kill him with a rock (as seen in the credits!).
Oh yeah! The one used in the MST3K version was a TV version, so a lot of stuff had to be sanitized/deleted.
Case in point, we get to see the effect of Martin Balsam getting shot at the end instead of the focus on Mitchell.
And because MST3K had to cut stuff for time, we lost a lot of scenes... /1
Got his head smashed in with a rock by an agitated Mitchell after he crashed his dune buggy!
It's in the theatrical cut as opposed to the TV edit that was used for MST3K, but you can kinda sorta somewhat see it in that opening title sequence with Mitchell bringing his arms down.
And here's the scene in question, solving the John Saxon conundrum!
Also also, I misremembered the scene, my bad: the rock was used to kill one of Saxon's buddies.
Saxon himself dies when his dune buggy flips over, because it was apparently made of explodium.

Which is hilarious, because that was taken from the TV-edited version of Mitchell.
In the theatrical cut, she writes "BASTARD" on his windshield.
It's also the cut where JDB kills John Saxon by smashing a rock on his head, which you kinda sorta somewhat see in those opening credits.
