I was feeling kind of cocky about living in the NE until I looked at the overdoses 😳
can you please also do an overlay of gun ownership rates in place of overdose deaths? Or number of guns in circulation. Not sure which would have a stronger correlation but my guess is the former
JFC, all these stats are shameful, but some states' stats are utterly horrific.
Just checked the UK, and our stats are:
8.4 deaths per 100K for "drug poisoning" (what we call overdose deaths in the UK).
0.03 gun deaths per 100K
Any idea of the gender breakdown on overdose deaths? I'd be curious if it also skews predominantly male.
