I know the counterculture origin of the spelling “comix” but, I don’t know, it really feels like it’s just trying too much and putting itself in a box at the same time. This is also a pretty useless thing for me to think about but sometimes that’s just how it goes.

It's always felt out of date to me, and I'm 47. But I like to think of it this way: if the comic features very carefully laboured over perspective, it's "comics". If the artist doesn't give a shit about perspective, it's "comix".

That's how come I called it Dinosaur Comics

Dinoxaur Comix. T Rex does have those massive R Crumb thighs.

A fair conclusion - after all, the divergence between T-rex, Dromiceiomimus and Utahraptor's perspectives has been crucial to its success.

Typing this was the first time I understood how many letters there are in "dromiceiomimus" and I now realise I have been pronouncing it so wrong (internally at least, no idea if I ever said it out loud) it was basically a different word for the last twenty years and more.

hahaha it's true! there's... so many vowels

I had somehow missed the "mi" so I was internally pronouncing it more like "droceiomimus" the whole time. Just a different dinosaur I guess.

My old site was “tragi-comix” because of pure artistic vision. And because someone had already grabbed the url “tragi-comics.” They say that domain squatting is the mother of invention.

you're right but also, isn't it more fun to write and one less letter for efficiency :^)
