Peonies doing PEONY STUFF Indecent

I am not growing these on purpose, they came with the house, but a) I love them and b) WOW so many insects in there just GOING TO TOWN on the pollen and nectar!

There’s also that cool ant mutualism with the buds. I love peonies so much

I miss the Tree Peony from my old house so hard! It was AMAZING (they're expensive to buy, so... yeah.)

My mom HATED the peonies at our old house precisely because of how much the ants loved them. But the flowers are outstanding! Classic midcentury garden plant here.

oh yeah ants in particular are like a Whole Thing with peonies, a friend gave me some to have a really fancy bath and I literally had to dunk and rinse them for like 10 mins to stop finding ants

As a child, we called my mother's the "ant plant" ..

That color is going So Hard!

The purple is creeping Bellflower. It's an invasive plant here in Ontario. My yard is full of it. I also have a lot of hosta varieties so I can see how you can mistake it for that when out of focus.
