If it's not Kamala and Somebody, they can hang it up with the Black woman vote, their most dedicated voting block

Also there is no world in which Sherrod Brown cedes the Senate to the GOP. Anyone even suggesting that as a possibility is unserious.

Yeah, it’s an awkward bind. She’d do terribly, I suspect—she’s not actually a very good politician, and the tightrope she’d have to walk counterpunching Trump without getting pegged as an “angry black lady” would be razorwire. But she’s the only actual choice if Biden steps aside.

Dems can’t win without the Black democratic base, and they’d take a lot of non-Black leftist voters with them. Lots of them already lean towards staying home due to Gaza or general apathy. Whether you like Harris or not, that is reality.
