They gave Hilary Cass a peerage. Enjoy your election victory but I’m not gonna wake tomorrow up feeling any safer or more optimistic as a trans woman. To me it’s just Friday. 🤷‍♀️

I would have held off on publishing this, but one of these is a nationwide injunction blocking the gender identity protections under Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, and the judge issued it yesterday — one business day before some of the rule goes into effect on Friday.

Election year in which everyone agrees the fate of America is on the line with a fork in the road in which a bad choice leads to an apocalyptic future NYT : we’re gonna publish an op ed from a christofascist saying “i dont vote and nor should you” and not check if he lied about not voting

not trying to pick on this reply in particular (sorry) but I see this sentiment a lot and I vehemently disagree with it nobody deserves what's coming in a second Trump term
The American people deserve it if they fall for this again

to be extremely clear: I think the focus on this over "the Supreme Court declares Trump is a king above the law" and the dangers of Project 2025 is dangerous, irresponsible and unacceptable but it is a significant danger to Biden's chances of winning in November

the message from every corner of the US media ecosystem right now is "Joe Biden can't do the job of President" it doesn't have to be right, or fair, to sink into the minds of the people who will be voting in November propaganda works
Man, idk if this is going to work out www.cnn.com/2024/07/04/p...

Just to be really explicit about what’s happening here, the cover conflates age, physical disability, and cognitive disability, and goes on to conflate disability with unfitness for office. It’s utter bullshit.
IMO this is a straight-up ageist and ableist image, no?

Yup. Lots of people pointing out obviously this would be weaponized against LGBTQ folks. But also it just fundamentally bristles with a hostility towards privacy and freedom that runs through the entire project.
And, their definition of "porn" includes acknowledging the existence of trans people.

I honestly believe that the big publications are running so hard with this *BECAUSE* the Supreme Court just promised to install a convicted felon rapist traitor into office and make him Dictator for life. If this is all we're talking about, there's no air for the real conversation.
Fucking unbelievable that the big publications are running with this as the lead story after the Supreme Court just promised to install a convicted felon rapist insurrectionist as Emperor for Life.

It’s a very obscure question but I did some research and it turns out that the president who led us out of the Depression and kicked Hitler’s ass was actually in a wheelchair? Who knew?
Kevin, I am not a historian, so IDK, but has there ever been a President in American History who used a mobility aid? And, if so, would you say this president who was so weak as to need, say, braces or a wheelchair, is considered to be one of the top President’s ever?

right wing think tanks are making thinly veiled threats of political violence, the Supreme Court has neutralized the regulatory power of broad swaths of government, and the fate of the executive branch depends on whether the 81 year old atop it can learn to breakdance or something. Happy July 4th

Why I Don't Vote (OK, I Do Vote, but I Would Like to Discourage You, NY Times Reader, For Doing So For Some Reason) Via @bubbaprog.ilovecitr.us
Man, if it turns out that the right winger telling NY Times readers that they should follow his example and not vote did in fact vote in the last two elections, the Times should add this to the piece. Better than a retraction, since it illustrates a willful hypocrisy.

A lot has happened in this past week, but don't forget that Neil Gorsuch and the rest of the conservatives said cities can criminalize needing a blanket in the cold.
The Supreme Court's cold ruling criminalizing homelessness: Justice Gorsuch's horrifying opinion in the Grants Pass case recalls an earlier heartless dissent. www.lawdork.com/p/supreme-co...
