the whole ‘actually, killing the villain makes us just as bad as him’ trope had done incomprehensible damage to society and i’m not kidding

This is why kids who love goku and Naruto Largely grew up to be communists.

To be fair to Goku, he usually left his villains alive so he could fight them again later. Not exactly morally upstanding, but you gotta respect his inability to really give a shit about casualties. That's what constant access to the dragon balls does to a man, I guess.

Alright he gave second chances after he utterly humiliated them and he's sure he can beat them up afterwards but he aint above murking Freeza, Cell and Buu, he straight up broke Nappa's back just to stop him

I hesitate to call what Goku does rehabilitative justice but it's hard to argue with results if you consider Tien, Piccolo, and Vegeta.

but what changed Piccolo was having a son 🤔 Vegeta changed after the 'humbling' that was Freeza wreckin' his shit before bearin' witness to the first super saiyan in that damn carrot (never watched pervy-ass Dragonball and don't plan to 🤷🏿‍♂️)

Both Piccolo and Vegeta changed after getting a second chance from Goku and understanding how Goku's nobler way of life could bring happiness and even strength to them.

Totally valid. We only have so many hours on this Earth and there's too much shows.

Vegeta wasn't redeemed until the moment he first hugged Trunks imo that was the moment he actually *finally* did something for other people.

damn now i wonder what King Vegeta was like as a dad 🤔
Dragon ball isn't pervy. how do you come to that conclusion?

To be fair, they might be referring to the original dragon ball series with kid Goku. It can be difficult to argue that that series wasn't pretty pervy. Dragon Ball Z onwards cut a lot of that stuff out.
I think it's a culture difference, in japan nudity isn't seen the same, yes there are pervy jokes with Roshi and oolong, but that's also supposed to be their character flaws. The audience is supposed to look at Roshi and say "this is a martial arts master?"
I should mention I've got mixed feelings on calling people pervy, mostly due to how it's often weaponized against any form of sexual, romantic, or even platonic expression. Litterly was afraid to talk to girl in high school because I thought I would be seen as pervy for just wanting to be friends.

Bro, I mean this with absolutely no malice intended: but if you have trouble understanding why OG Dragon Ball might be seen as unambiguously pervy, or no objections to how pervy it genuinely was, then you were probably right to worry about how pervy you might come off in every day conversation.
In regards to me, I'm was referring to the simple act of saying HI. As for Dragon ball I get Roshi being pervy and would not be appropriate in IRL. But I don't see it as any worse then the pervyness level of most media. Blanche from Golden Girls for example. Point is we also have a low bar as well

I mean, yes, there's a point to be made there, but also you can't really argue that the show isn't pervy by western standards. And that it's completely understandable that said perceived perviness is a dealbreaker for some people.
