Encounters with police are so inconsistent. We need a nationwide standard and ongoing training and recertification to hold them accountable. Many laws that unfairly favor police must be removed. Full transparency is essential. I have had both positive and negative interactions with police at times.

You're a white man, presumably middle-class, housed & abled, which means you're bottom of the list to experience the targeted harassment, abuse, & brutalization the rest of us receive from cops on the daily. Laws & training will not fix the fact that ALL cops are bastards. The problem is systemic.
