This Project Dragon art has me both inspired and enraged at the same time. I feel so bad for the creatives, it looked like THE dream project. Fuckin' hell.
People: Could u please eminent domain and buy unused land to then build subsidized housing on please?
Mayors: Absolutely not, do not ask again or I will call the police
Condo developers: Can you--
Mayors, writing a check for $20M: Say less
Don't know if I posted this here??
I got this printed for local conventions this year and I was baffled by the amount of people who picked it up! I love doing fun things with composition, so it was nice to see others love it too!
one thing i'd love to see reflected in comics budgets are design phases. this is so rare and often assumed to be included in the page rate, which is fine for a really long project because of economy of scale... but design takes the same work when you're working on a short piece (<20 pages) vs. long
The Bear feels like comics but about food. I'm sure every creative industry works this way. Bunch of obsessive maladjusted deeply passionate tender little weirdos flying by the seat of their pants.
"Great men are almost always bad men" is a phrase that goes through my head a LOT (along with an appropriately gender-neutral-ized version when applicable)
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority: still more when you superadd the tendency or the certainty of corruption by authority.” -Lord Acton, 1887
Happy Phantom Rider Day!! Hope ya'll got a chance to pick up Sonic 70! Really really happy with how this one came out.

What Jim Lee has just done for the art community is an absolutely masterful strategic move.
In one post he's re-established art as something of great value at a time when so many people are doing everything to reframe it as valueless
A conversation on our Discord has prompted me to say again: remember, y'all, what really sells books is not the author talking about their work, but *readers* talking about it. Word of mouth drives far more sales than advertising or any other engine. So if you loved a book, tell your friends!
Imagine being surprised that if you want to hire the President, Publisher, and CEO of DC comics to personally draw you a bespoke original piece of art, it would be prohibitively expensive.
People were hashtaggin’ Jim Lee to the point I thought the dude passed, but it turns out he’s just charging 20k for commissions, which if you’ve been in the game since the early 80’s and was the head of two different publishers in that run, you’re fine charging that.
SOAPBOX TIME
I hate how many times I read things like "nobody cares about the world" and "humanity is the virus" and "our species is too inept/evil/selfish to survive" online. I almost never see anyone talking about the many, many people who are doing incredibly hard, complex, good work
A thread for comic writers, from a comic writer, on how to be a good ally to your co-creator artist✨
And because I know folks love to fight for no reason: you can, in fact, just ignore this thread. I won't reply to pointlessly argumentative comments.
be less afraid to create clumsy comics. awkward tangents. amateur lettering. weird sequentials and pacing. You Can Just Make it. you dont need to be trapped in a cycle of perfectionism and imposter syndrome when you could have a finished work instead. print that thing out and staple it!!!
If I had money I'd pay people to give BG3 a makeover with cel shaded graphics, somewhat reminiscent of Breath of the Wild or Dragon Ball FighterZ. It would look SO GOOD.
The 1st preview page is up for Sonic #70 so I wanted to share my colors on it!! Aaron was really cool and had shading/highlighting guides for a bunch of panels this issue, which was very helpful.
