Here's what I know: genius isn't godlike or magical or even that rare. Genius is cultivated, nurtured, supported, delighted in. It happens in the context of a myriad of tiny boosts, too numerous to count and too subtle to name. It is as common as breath, and just as precious.

There's something creepy, almost sinister about this painting (The Beeches at Kerdual, 1892 by Maurice Denis) Maybe it's the Distance from the subjects? The voyeuristic nature of it? Also the fact the angel is on the outside of a black wall talking to someone separated from the safety of the group.

I let my Twitter be deleted. That place is a cesspool of the worst parts of this fandom. I’ve been MIA taking care of my mental health and going through some unimaginable shit. The cliques of Reylo that do gatekeeping bullshit is a real ass thing and I hope the worst offenders die out with Twitter 🙏🏼

You cannot treat people as disposable by “curating your experience” and then wonder why the fandom has gone so quiet. Why people have stopped reading and writing. Why friends quietly disappear. You cannot keep cutting off the branches on a tree and then wonder why there’s no wind left in the leaves.

What’s even more bonkers is that in the form you submit to request your opt-out you need to provide a screenshot with evidence that your data was already used!! You can’t simply submit a request to /stop/ it from being used!! I hate Facebook!! I hate Instagram!! I hate Aye Eye!! I hate Zuckerberg!!

I feel people need to remember that Meta will very very likely absolutely NOT honor your opt-out requests, even if they are accepted. There has been similar events in the past, and they always preferred to sit it out and/or pay penalties instead. Be careful what you post to their apps in the future.

My dad watched four of his siblings die of polio and smallpox before the age of 10, because they didn’t have access to vaccines. Those are aunts and uncles of mine who’d still be alive today, and I would gratefully trade these antivaxxer’s lives for theirs.

My grandmother was a Polio survivor. She would say "Polio victim". As soon as she could get her kids the vaccine, she did it. These asshats are going to get people killed, make children suffer, all because of anti-vaccine rhetoric. *sigh*
