I sympathize with the frustration though, the wire cutters on those crimpers are usually the weakest link. I have a nice cutter-stripper tool, I save this tool for crimping
Keep it to crimp terminals and strip wire, and buy a real wire cutter :-)
Yes, with a CPAP my sleep is much better now! Lots of options for masks too. Good luck with it!
Hey, Houston might have some offices available!
Oh wow, I’ve seen videos of fire ants rafting in a deluge, that is definitely on my nightmare list
Wow, TIL for sure. Still worth doing sometimes
The fact that she called them and they shot her really upsets me. She asked for help. 💔
The theater club at my college did an outdoor production of Antigone, I saw it on a return visit… it was very intense, I’d never seen a Greek tragedy performed with a chorus and choreographed staging like that before and being just steps from the performers made it even more overwhelming
When I started work after college my great uncle gave me his 122S, drove that car for years then gave it to a cousin. Last I heard it is in a field near Salinas…
No need, I fled the Bay Area in 2020!
Funny thing is that the neighborhood in South SF that this song was mocking is pretty charming as far as small single family homes go, 60 years of gardening and ownership has an effect…
My parents were friends with a couple that lived up there, my mom used to sing the song to us when we went over to visit, but I thought their house was cute… it had a garden and lots of light. Sadly they both died of AIDS in the early 90s 💔
Have not had a Laotian sandwich, but noodles made by Hmong friends of my parents in 1982 was my introduction to SE Asian food, oh the scent of cilantro was a revelation! Most of the Hmong moved to the Central Valley once they got oriented, my parents volunteered with them when they first arrived
Does Guinness have a category for “furthest north to harvest a pepper?”
I used to work with a petite Taiwanese lady and a tall blonde Dutch lady, walked into their shared office one day and called Yvonne by the name Anke, they looked at each other, rolled their eyes and Yvonne asked me what I wanted… names always mess me up!
That sucks… I hope by physical therapy and meds you get to where it is manageable… I had a really bad back for a few years in my 20s, been mostly ok since then. Naproxen is my magic pill!
Also the Addams Family has a butler, very aristo
I’m not sure Judy Collins or Sandy Denny did better with “Who knows where the time goes?”, but Collins made it the title of her second album and that was when I first heard the song as a kid
The one time I’ve caught covid was at a 5 day conference for work, by the 3rd day people were testing positive and I’d already been exposed, tested positive on day 5. I should have kept the mask on!
That is sort of a doomsday scenario, hence it worries me a lot
Yes, that book is exactly where I got that factoid!
My son just moved away from Riverside, as a non-driver he was able to use the regional trains to get around but often had to use uber or lyft to make connections at one end or the other. He arrived in Portland yesterday, walked over to the river last night and watched the fireworks 💥
And of course the trains were mostly set of for commuters so they don’t run back and forth all the time
The thing that gives me the creeps about lab grown meat or synthetic meat is biological safety. Chickens and cows have immune systems, and if they get sick they can be isolated and culled. Growing food in a tank seems like a great way to culture germs. But I don’t even like to eat sprouts!
I had a CNG car for 3 years, that put me off of the idea of hydrogen as a transportation fuel in any sort of consumer vehicle. We already have electricity distribution figured out, good reasons to upgrade it. Why build a whole new network?
I work in that field and I worry about that a lot. Taiwan is still 5 years ahead of the rest of the world in tech, but they are a tiny island next to a grumpy neighbor (5 years is my estimate, don’t ask me to justify it!)
Even so vaccines have so much benefit that even our flawed and messy society has been willing to pay for them so far. Agreed about rare disease treatments, we are not handling long covid very well yet
The main point about space and electronics that I’ve heard is that NASA was buying most of the production of early ICs… when I started in the very esrly 80s commercial computing and the military were big, PCs were just getting started
Ack! I missed that you added some slots… my step child is interested… next time for sure!
Ok, watched the first hour last night. Wow!
