Many cis people who are ostensibly “pro-trans” use the “sex ≠ gender” phrasing as a way of positioning “sex” as the definitive trait and “gender” as just a freely chosen costume.
One example is that essay going around claiming that white trans women are “new” to oppression because they (the essay writer assumes) happily enjoyed white man privilege before transitioning.
This is another way of saying their sex was all that mattered and their gender was irrelevant, because it ignores the suffering trans women experience before transitioning because of being forced to live as the wrong gender
No, not that. It’s just simply not “anti racism” to look at an argument and automatically take the black person’s side because one assumes she had to necessarily be right
