Aren't most of the lgb alliance heteros anyway? Esp seeing as how polling has shown LGB+ cis ppl are overwhelmingly in support of trans & nb rights, especially LB+ women.

Section 28 caused me so much harm. Anyone who even remotely sees the limiting of information regarding queer people as a positive is an outright enemy. I have zero tolerance, zero wiggle room on this topic. It's infuriating to see history repeat itself like this.
I’ve literally had this conversation with someone this morning and gleefully told him Sex Ed is still mandatory in Wales and I’m glad my kid will benefit from it
Good families will, of course, fill in the gaps. But I know multiple peers who were sexually abused by men in their family when they were under 13. It is absolutely in the interest of abusers to entirely hand the sex education of their victims to them.
Maybe it has changed? but there is a longstanding tradition of parents not wanting to 'have the talk' with their children - Isobel Allen's 1980s research indicated they were relieved to hand off responsibility to education system. Maybe there are more resources available (if parents can access them)
Some parents might not want to talk about it for entirely non sinister reasons. We got our kids 'what's happening to my body' books on puberty for if they didn't want to ask their mum & dad something, but always answered every question & encouraged them to always ask.
Their aunt married a woman when they were little which made the talk about LGBT+ ppl really easy, and me talking frankly about being out as bi helped one of my kids realise they are Ace.
But I'm sure we dropped the ball plenty of times along the way! Which is another reason why I'm glad of PSHE lessons - as, according to a poll yesterday are the vast, vast majority of brits - esp parents.
I worry there's a strong risk certain people will start to do a Sensible, Grown Up re-evaluation of section 28 and ponder if it wasn't that bad, actually.
It's as though they're assuming all sex ed does is teach "tab A goes into slot B", nothing about respect, consent, and how people can love each other when they aren't opposite genders (nothing more than A and C are together, not what they might get up to in private).
It would be amusing if it wasn’t so dire. Do people not look at the past and realise which side they are currently standing on? Do they think those that come after won’t be looking at them with contempt in the same way? Clearly abusing their power now holds too many rewards to consider their legacy.
