At a certain level all fiction involves writers wilfully flouting probability in some way shape or form to give some form to the void of a blank page, and when the work is designed to be impossible from the start?

Poster says their friend has "outdated" ideas about how TTRPGs should work. First comment asks "Such as?" Second comment is basically "Like what?" Then the poster disables comments. What a passive-aggressive way to say you've got non-universal opinions on the subject and don't wanna be challenged.

Witnessing current United States politics is weakly analogous to watching old Dukes of Hazzard through a modern lens: we the audience are forced to root for a bunch of good ol' boys who proudly paint a Confederate flag on the top of their muscle car because the other side is cops.

My pre-literate two-year-old with the apparently eidetic memory loves the Star Wars books he got for his birthday, and somehow manages to pronounce "Nien Nunb" better than anybody else I've ever heard attempt it.

So this is where I end up. It's the ineffective and incompetent or the actively malicious. But I feel like a lot of the "alternatives" being proposed are predicated on some wild levels of magical thinking, and I don't think that's any more useful than the "unicorns" shit liberals keep saying.

The lack of any meaningful third-party representation in Congress, where it is *vastly easier and cheaper* to win elections, is an illustration of how unserious American third parties are. There are *tons* of uncontested local offices around the country that could be feeders for third party Reps.
