i hold few left tendencies in more contempt than anprims. industry and human ingenuity gave us the CASE axial-flow combine and 45 foot grain header for a reason.
as a fiber arts lover, i feel like the ability to make yarn / string / rope is very underrated when we talk about civilization-enabling developments in early hominid history. like just being able to tie things together and carry them around from place to place more easily is huge!
also, having made fabric myself and knowing how much labor goes into that has made me even more opposed to fast fashion. when i launch my art / surface pattern career i’m intentionally going to avoid designing for textiles even though i love them so much. we already have so much fabric on this 🌎.
