That was one of my bigger disappointments with where the show ended.

Maybe they’re just waiting the real world amount of time for the continuation of the series …

The authors hinted at doing more seasons/movie in an ama last year but i think amazon sold the props from the show already and it seems increasingly unlikely

Oh they would always make new props for the new series. That’s no biggie

I want to believe

I’m not getting my hopes up. It ended in a decent place, the main threat at the time resolved, with more “world” left but not in a dumb cliffhanger way. If they finish out the books that would be great but the way it ended was mostly just “fine” and I feel they might’ve wrapped it up TOO quickly.

At least when they get asked to finish GRRM’s series we know it’ll come out in like 18 months.

Whats weird to me is they introduce the whole Martian empire storyline in the last season but then never really go anywhere with it so i assume they didnt originally plan to end it there?

Probably not, but it kinda doesn’t go anywhere for a decade or so in the books with the jump from 6 to 7, anyway. Probably wanted to make sure it was set up just in case. But that’s how it was at that point in the series, just a looming, unknown threat.
