When Democrats fantasize about unopposed power, they talk about giving everyone healthcare, education, childcare, civil rights, and a clean environment. When Republicans fantasize about unopposed power, they talk about killing literally everyone on earth. They are not the same.

They want it to feel hopless. They want it to feel inevitable, to sap our strength and will. To feel like fighting is pointless. Because that's the only way they can win. When we fight, they lose, every time. So have your little cry, then get your warpaint back on.

I wonder if the billionaire class and their political lapdogs really understand public trust in the Rule of Law is the only thing keeping the torches and pitchforks in sheds and basements.
