🇬🇧 It seems implausible that in the past six months, with over 250 sorties, British RAF "Shadow" ISR aircraft, operating near Gaza, an area awash with atrocities, haven't incidentally collected evidence of war crimes. ukdefencejournal.org.uk/raf-flies-25...

Anyone can take part in the information war, there's no barrier to entry. The war is being fought by governments, companies, and people. The area I'm interested in is the intersection where passively collected radio transponder signals, and obscured aviation (or naval) movements meet. 🧵

This works for any country you don't see me chirping about. I'm very simple to manipulate. Jamaica? Belize? Nicaragua? Libya? Armenia? Wherever you're at, whatever you're interested in, deploy #ADSBexchange receivers, and I'll tell you, and everyone else, what's above your head.
🇮🇶 If less than a dozen people in Iraq, spread out, not all in Baghdad, ran #ADSBexchange internet-connected software defined radio receivers, collecting transponder data from overhead aircraft, we'd be able to geolocate most of the aircraft over #Iraq that we can't "see" today.

This change will bring Bluesky closer to Twitter-parity, and motivate me to post more here. 👍
Exciting news: We’re taking another step to making Bluesky an open network for public conversations. Around the end of this month, we’ll release a public web interface. With this, you’ll be able to view posts on Bluesky without being logged in on an account.

I mentioned it before to a few people and I will mention it again. The quickest way is to put them in schools as a STEM project. Great way to cultivate future trackers and get you into areas you may not otherwise be able to get into

@brooklynmarie.bsky.social from your extensive experience following disinformation purveyors of the far right, have you ever distinguished between the more customer-facing radio/podcast disinformation spreaders, and those more behind the scenes who allegedly do "research" that supports their fraud?

@hareldan.bsky.social I noticed something very interesting you might find very interesting too, but there's no DM here. :(

Today in 1950, a B-50 ferrying a Mark-4 atomic bomb (minus its plutonium pit) from Canadian Forces Base Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, to Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, developed engine trouble and jettisoned the bomb over the St. Lawrence River near Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec.

This is a must-read. SO many (nearly all) the articles about Musk-era Twitter are written from the lofty vantagepoints of people who weren't hardcore Twitter users or who just didn't get why Twitter wasn't like any other social media
