Do you think that reflects a Labour victory that's more about kicking the Tories than enthusiasm for Labour, or is that too broad an intepretation of both?
I think sort of neither? It reflects a) the strength of the national constituency to the left of Labour and b) the correct perception that the election was a done deal.
Also reflects the weakness of the Labour candidate in North Islington. Hardly ran any campaign at all and did nothing to try and win over wavering voters.
