In his recent rant, Russell Coutts said "The Hector's dolphin is not an endangered species as Otago university professor Liz Slooten recently claimed. That was a lie." But it's Coutts that is lying. Hector's Dolphin is endangered according to the IUCN Red List. Coutts owes Prof. Slooten an apology.

Petitions - New Zealand Parliamentpetitions.parliament.nz Petitions are addressed to the House of Representatives and ask that the House do something about a policy or law, or put right a local or private concern.

And that's with a lower than expected deficit. They never intended to honour those "bottom line commitments".

And if that original founding document is "we are presently different peoples, but we are now forming a new political unit together", and then you democratically void that... well then you've just voided the very thing that gives legitimacy to political unit in the first place.

David Seymour's argument for denying the vote to 16 and 17 year olds is basically that they shouldn't be allowed to vote because he doesn't think they'll vote for right wing parties. Seymour is anti-democracy.

How it's going on X. The account is suspended now thankfully. Would be good to know if some other category was the right one (I reported for violence), or if they just ignore the first few reports.

Since antivaxers are trying to frighten people with "look at all the days of high deaths in the last few years" using their illegally obtained health records, I have done a quick graph from public weekly data to show how misleading they are being. Made at speed but not in haste.

So Nat/ACT/NZF claim that we can't limit tobacco sales because corner dairies will go bust, but also lower nicotine limits alone will kill smoking. Surely if nicotine limits alone will kill smoking then the diaries that allegedly depend on tobacco sales will go bust anyway, no?
