Did you see the one about the FN candidate who is sous tutelle, legally unable to make choises, who is on the ballot? If he’s elected, they can unseat him. And the FN granny candidate who took her town hall hostage years ago?

Hang on. I thought the idea was that third place drops out because RN is running, not because RN says they've dropped out.

Guessing the left candidate dropped out before the RN candidate's false statement of dropping out, then came back in, then tried (too late, apparently) to drop out again?

Seems like a trick they can only pull off once?
