I really don’t think most people realize just how hard the boot will come down if Trump and the Republicans win the election. Most people have never experienced the totalitarian surveillance state with the power to reach into their homes and minds at will they are telling us is their plan.

In the week following the debate the New York Times ran 192 stories about Biden's performance and six about Project 2025. x.com/Will_Bunch/s...

There was no GOP party platform in 2020, and Trump wants to shrink the proposed 2024 one. He opposes providing detail on how radical his second term will be because he knows its unpopular. Make no mistake: Project 2025 was written by Trump appointees & loyalists. Its their shared agenda.
even trump’s campaign staff (i assume he didn’t write this) knows that the reactionary, authoritarian agenda that’s project 2025 is going to be unpopular with the average voter.

This will be one about hope, though maybe not "hope" as it is usually meant. Hope is a defiant act taken against those who would sabotage any act of reparation—and sabotaging repair is exactly what fascism does. For this reason, hope is what is needed right now. www.the-reframe.com/a-fools-hope/

Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools. Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

Even so, the base could see it as a clever move to win over needed voters in the general election. In other words, they'd be in on Trump's fake moderation, with the expectation that he'd be on their side once in office. 12/x

Judge John Broomes, a Trump appointee, issued a nationwide Title IX rule injunction covering all children of "Moms for Liberty" members this week. That's bad enough, but the procedural/notice mess he made of it is also really absurd: www.lawdork.com/i/146289012/...

I would have held off on publishing this, but one of these is a nationwide injunction blocking the gender identity protections under Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, and the judge issued it yesterday — one business day before some of the rule goes into effect on Friday.

Here’s the New York Times website, still obsessing about Biden’s debate performance. The Supreme Court’s ruling granting Trump immunity from criminal prosecution is no longer anywhere on the front page.

This is the explicit goal of an astonishing amount of paid (and paid for!) propaganda out there. If you're feeling voting doesn't matter, maybe consider why it is so many people are spending so much money, time, effort and ad space trying to convince you not to.

Christians follow all kinds of rules to feel superior to the rest of us and then when we don't give a fuck about those rules, they get jealous that that is/was an option and they'd rather force all of us to follow their rules to make them feel better than just live the life they want to deep down

History will recall that the New York Times, that bastion of "the liberal media," on July 4, 2024 chose to give prime space on their op-ed page to a theocratic absolutist who argued that people shouldn't vote, even though he himself has voted in the last 2 elections (but nowhere is that mentioned).
When I first saw this I thought "no, that can't possibly be true." But alas, the Times did indeed choose today of all days to publish a right winger's recycled piece about how they don't vote, failing to mention that the author basically thinks absolutist theocracies are cool.

On INDEPENDENCE DAY they published this. ON THE FOURTH OF JULY 2024 THE NEW YORK TIMES TOLD PEOPLE NOT TO VOTE. I'm furious.

Ultimately the GOP understands a path exists to steal the Presidency by mucking up the balloting and electoral count to kick the result to the house of representatives (where, voting by state delegations, they win automatically). Any legal shenanigans exist to enable this plan. It's treason.
