Le Pen's party (RN) got 143 seats. While a record, that's far (very far) from the 289 they hoped for to govern. How?! Hundreds of Left & Macronist candidates dropped out to help each other block the RN. And millions of voters then voted strategically to get that job done.

Imagine that. Organization and cooperation.

Boy are we in the US not capable of that on a politician level or a personal voter level.

How do you think Biden won in 2020?

I guess if we think the backroom deals made with Pete and Kamala so they back out in order for Biden to defeat Bernie are the same (in other words, not- its all self-promoting), then its similar? I think normal republicans just didn’t vote- do you think a substantial number voted for Biden?

I don’t mean to sound snarky it sounds like coordinated actions by disparate groups in France assessing the danger of fascism accurately…whereas Im seeing the Dems eat themselves while the “decent” republicans retire or follow their leader.

And how have elections been going for Republicans since 2016?

People don’t like them very much. Its not coordinated or strategic. If whats happening now seems the same to you enjoy your viewpoint.

This a built-in feature of the French electoral system: if a candidate is despised by a majority of the electorate they will never pass (compare with the demented British and American systems which, under the same conditions, would've given power to the far right)

So glad for France, it's got work to do, but I'm glad.
