My cats are laying low today, we had fireworks going off next to my house until very late. Pushing the impulse to frame this as the last 4th under democracy out of my thoughts. Don't feel like celebrating, but will talk w/folks later. Hope you tell ur ppl about saving America from Authoritarianism.
Same here, don’t feel like celebrating but trying not to be too gloomy. Fireworks terrify my cat too and it’s likely there will be some tonight in the neighborhood. ☹️
Yeah, I'm not going to be gone too long, I have this new kitty who is a hider anyway but I don't want to leave them alone with that. This is a very urban area, so the racket will be most of the night. Give your kitties hugs for me.
Also have a timid kitty. He's been hiding a good part of the last week and is super jumpy. Near as I can tell, people in small towns spend a large part of their disposable income on commercial grade fireworks. Hopefully down here they don't set them off well into September, tho!
