It's fairly forgiving, and a quick light sand and reapply will do a lot.

I've had some good results from Osmo Polyx hard waxes. They take a long while to fully dry, but they're designed for floor use so wear is not much of an issue. Example: a desk I made last year

She did, and you can see it clearly on Perlman's face.

This They will find out, better if you're out in front of it

Next stage of my table build. Finished all the leg joinery today, all hand cut castle joints.

Next up, them flat bits for the top

Another day, more maths and measurements. Table stretchers are nice and square with a fit that needs a mallet to get in and out. Lovely. Now to add the corner stretcher with turntable.

And, last thing so the glue dries overnight, the second table leaf glue-up. Looks good so far.

I've been meaning to have a try at it for ages, think I've got a good project for it now. Wife needs a footstool.

This joinery's been quite a learning curve, loads of different grain directions to account for cutting them.
Avatar
Awesome, hope you can find the time to enjoy it! I'm making as much interesting stuff as I can, trying to get someone to train me up but it's uphill going.
Avatar
Marked up, drilled out end and sides with a 15mm forstner bit, then took the rest out with the chisels. Got a good snug fit each way which I'm hoping will glue solidly.
Avatar
Thanks. The joints will be visible sometimes, as the top is two leaves that swivel and fold out to double the surface. The castle joints should be very strong, ideal for a table where you don't want to put stretchers down the legs.
Avatar
Thanks - I'll be posting more this week+ as I get more of the interesting bits done. Planning to have the table done by end of next week.

Lionised or goosed, still a fucking danger

Now come on, we've done simply loads of other shitty things to the Spanish since then. If you're going to attribute specific historic incidents we'll be here forever.

Or whatever Adrian Mole grew into

It's not even as if they say anything interesting or useful. Just take the same level of deliberately ignorant verbal dump on the table, then sit back looking pleased with themselves.
Avatar
That lot won't ever shut up. And until someone does something sensible about Question Time's booking policy, they'll have a ready made outlet to spout nonsensical fables.
Avatar
Quite. There's a lot of professional opinionists I dislike, or disagree with, but she's one of the few I actually despise.
Avatar
Enzo is entirely failing to chase pigeons, and is guarding the table in case it tries to walk off.
Avatar
She's doing precisely what she's paid for. And yes, she is that bad.
Avatar
To be clear, she's especially known as an overpromoted TPA shill, who is expert in nothing at all but has a big mouth and paid-for pre-agreed opinions. The rest aren't *much* better, but there's a degree of difference between duplicitous and merely dim.
Avatar
Yes, and my cat is an idiot, because you don't bet large on blackjack when craps and roulette are available
Avatar
Surely this means he needs investigating thoroughly, as he's undoubtedly done something similar
Avatar
Fucking self righteous dickheads. This is just bullying to feel better about doing nothing of actual use to whatever they think this week
Avatar
Yep. I use that stuff solely as an ingredient for stock bases, on the grounds that I wouldn't make.a fucking bay leaf salad, either.
Avatar
This is entirely correct and what I was going to say 👍
