Random things-that-make-me-happy skeet. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Such a good movie and exactly my shit. Raka, the church of Caesar priest orangutan, is on of my favorite movie characters of the decade.
The ACC refs purposely rigged the 2003 UF-FSU game so that the ACC champ Seminoles wouldn’t finish low enough in the rankings to trigger automatic review of the ACC’s BCS status, a protocol the ACC had called for to try to relegate the Big East to mid-major status.
Does “no one has heard of it” count as underrated? If so, Terra Willy. Should be considered a kids movie classic. Not even Pixar itself could have done much better with the kid-stranded-on-mysterious-planet premise.
The discourse around biden needing more sleep is fully insane. Does no one remember "Executive Time," the thing Trump spent the majority(!) of his schedule on where he would just watch TV and tweet? Dude was categorically unable to fulfill any of the demands of the office and the press barely cared
When we started learning in Con Law about strict scrutiny, intermediate scrutiny, etc., I remember thinking “no way, this sounds made up.”
I was ahead of my time as a legal scholar, is what I’m saying.
The great failure of the Frost/Nixon movie is that it treated “I’m saying if the President does it, it’s not illegal” as an irrevocably damning self-admission and not the terrifying reasoned position it actually was. All it would take is for someone with a modicum less shame…
New OB today was amazing. Used the phrase “vibing with you,” immediately knew the zodiac sign (and associated traits) of our due date, and said “oh, ‘no sex after childbirth’ is pretty much made up, something we mostly say for the husbands so they don’t bother you.”
Presidential debates have been useless at best for a long time. But I didn’t fully realize it till 2012, when (1) Romney acted manic and changed positions on the fly, (2) Obama didn’t take the bait and calmly laid out his positions, and (3) even Democrats despaired of how bad Obama got whooped.
TIL that in the 90s UCF briefly had a second mascot, a female knight named Glycerin. To go along with the male knight Knightro. Knightro, Glycerin. Sure.
I understand why they only gave 4 episodes of The Acolyte to critics, but ep 5 is by far the strongest so far. Still has some of the same weirdness with the edits and the soundstage look at times. But it *really* goes for it.
