I was impressed as hell by the end of Centaurworld.
the whole ‘actually, killing the villain makes us just as bad as him’ trope had done incomprehensible damage to society and i’m not kidding

One of the reasons I like TOTK so much is Gannondorf is just a raging greedy asshat that needs to be beat down till he’s dead. It’s refreshing.

My brain read that as "Gandalf" and I was very incredibly confused for a good few seconds

😅 Gandalf’s final form is a bug green fella😅

I got so mad when someone complained that the ending wasn't perfect, and I was like *that's the point*! That's what makes it so great, everyone is flawed and those flaws make the ending flawed amd great. The only perfect character was Becky Apples and she was a nightmare

SAME, it was definitely nice to see a "nah, they just gotta die" for such a rotten villain
Avatar
Same for TOH and the Big Bad literally getting stomped to death by several characters he'd harmed.
Avatar
That was after he tried to pull a "now that you beat me I'm a good guy again", by the way. Nobody bought it.

The way Bill Cipher went out was also quite satisfying.

Truly, deeply unhinged but somehow SO good with amazing music 👏

Singing his own song back at him as she wound up the blow, too. Centaurworld had no right being this good for a show with fart-based plot points.

URSULA HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS READING ABOUT CENTAURS.

I've literally seen people try to make Mysterious Woman out to be the villain for killing him and it's like... guy committed genocide instead of going to therapy there was no coming back from that.

How did you feel about the end of Ralph Bakshi's Wizards?
Avatar
I felt that Bakshi probably wrote himself into a corner. But I mean, it worked.

Still one of the most absolutely badass moments in cinema. "I'm glad you changed your name, you son of a bitch." I am always a bit annoyed at the poor skeletal anatomy on Blackwolf's arms, though...
Avatar
As a near lifelong fan of the movie, I have had the idea for a while now that Bakshi's point with that ending was that despots always forget that the terrible changes they force are changes that are bad for them, too. Arming everyone means also arming your enemies. Not a bad gag, either.

youtu.be/2m29ggGeQuc Spoilers obviously. . . . . . "Quiet I am now ready to silence All of this poison you fed me Thinking I'd never grow wise You will die And so will all your lies When I see the light leaving your eyes"

SO GOOD. One of my favorite shows ever.

YES the lyrics were perfect, grief and sympathy and resolve.
Avatar
Yeah, there's a lady who straight up goes "You ruined everything, DIE."

I still haven't got around to watch it, but the 11yo has loved it, watched it at least two times. I trust her judgement, she likes cool shows.

Let's just say there was a genuine sense of relief at the end of Deadpool
