How many Trump Cabinet members/senior staff have called on the US to reject him? Hint: it's a much larger number than D officials vs. Biden and you'd think that putting that counter alongside this one would be the minimum of balance required of an ethical news venue.

Last I saw it was forty-something

Would seem relevant to an inquiry into fitness for office. But not, apparently, to @nytimes and the Politics desk.

With a smaller denominator, too.

How many names of his own cabinet members and senior staff (other than immediate family) could he remember in a pinch?

Pence, Esper, Mattis, John Kelly, Milley, Bolton, Cassidy Hutchinson, Stephanie Grisham, Sarah Matthews, Scaramucci, Alyssa Farah Griffin, plus Cheney, Romney, maybe more

You could have two counts: number of Trump cabinet members/senior staff opposing him AND number of Trump cabinet members/senior staff working on Project 2025

Trump has an unassailable lead over Biden in key cabinet members/senior staff convicted of felonies metric.

Balance is when they interview people who think trans people should be killed and interview people who think trans people should have separate but equal rights and talk to no trans people. Fuck the nyt. Block them. Leave them alone. Starve them of your attention, eyeballs, and dollars especially.

I am retired and am literally old enough to be genuinely amazed that I can remark, not at all lightly, about The New York Times of all papers: When you say "ethical news venue" ...

I think the point is that Democrats should hold themselves to a higher standard than republicans. 27% of voters think Biden has the mental fitness to be the president now, let alone four years from now.

I think the point is the press should hold the Republicans to the same standards they hold the Democrats. Anything less is just encouraging Republicans to bury the bar even lower

The press has tried for nine years to make this case and what’s plainly obvious is that Trump voters don’t care. Biden’s age is not going to stop being an issue when only 27% of voters think he’s mentally fit enough to be the president right now.

I am referring to how the two parties are portrayed to voters, not how voters think. For as long as I have paid attention I don't think the press has ever held the Republican party to the same standards of factual truth or good faith arguments. You can disagree.
