UNC Asheville is going to close its drama, philosophy, religious studies, French, and German depts because financial consultants recommend this. These consultants only count the number of majors, not the number who take and are influenced by courses from depts other than their major. Shame!

Imagine tuning in to a local news broadcast, and having the meteorologist spend 10 minutes talking about different ways to bet on today's weather, and which weather bet will pay off

The amount of money and effort currently being invested in trying to addict young people to gambling in the USA can only be compared to when Philip Morris actively targeted 10 year olds to have active customers for the next 40

I hate, with the intensity of a thousand suns, how gambling has become omnipresent in sports. The way these sports-betting degenerates abuse players is nothing short of disgusting. Yes, there's a lot of money to be made. But sports are being ruined for a lot of people--fans and players alike.

Sports betting should go back where it belongs: fraternity house basements, bad dive bar corners, the men’s locker room of country clubs, Caribbean 1-900 lines, and Vegas. That’s it. That’s where it belongs and it has otherwise ruined sports television.
